Service Description
This course is the fourth in the five-course State Fire Training Fire Marshal series released in 2018. It represents the most up-to-date curriculum offered in any state, aligned with the professional qualifications outlined in NFPA 1037, Standard on Fire Marshal Professional Qualifications. This course provides participants with the knowledge and skills to manage the adoption, modification, and maintenance of codes, standards, and jurisdictional requirements. It also covers the administration of inspection, plan review, and design review processes, as well as appeals, record-keeping, permitting, and complaint reconciliation systems. In addition, students will gain experience managing compliance interpretation, alternative means and methods, materials requests, and interagency coordination programs. The Fire Marshal certification series is a stand-alone program, and individuals do not need to be a Fire Prevention Officer or Plans Examiner to pursue Fire Marshal certification. This course This course is designed for current or aspiring Fire Marshals seeking State Fire Training certification, as well as professionals who want a comprehensive understanding of regulatory program management.This course provides an overview of the knowledge and skills needed to manage and administer fire investigation programs within an organized fire department.
